Bright Heart Health is committed to leading the world in developing the most up-to-date and evidence-supported telemedicine treatment for eating disorder care. Thus, Bright Heart Health has made a philanthropic gift in support of Athena Robinson, PhD. Clinical Assistant Professor from Stanford University’s School of Medicine to conduct a preliminary study on the effectiveness of eating disorder treatment using telemedicine. The research study will include adult participants struggling with anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder.

With Stanford, we are defining the best practices for telemedicine and eating disorders.Dr. Vicki Berkus

Outcomes will be assessed, via psychometrically valid and widely-used eating disorder symptomatology measures, at program discharge, and 3-month post discharge. Study results will be made available after analysis. We hope studies on telemedicine can inform, and perhaps ultimately improve, telemedicine programs for eating disorder treatment.
