Opioid Use Disorder Treatment in Idaho
From Boise to Twin Falls, from Idaho Falls to Nampa, all throughout Idaho the epidemic that is the opioid use crisis has burdened many different neighborhoods and communities. The dangers of this dependency have affected many families for generations. In order to grow our communities, families and loved ones we must have enough courage to step up and seek out change. Bright Heart Health stands as a beacon and an advocate to win back the lives of our clients and their loved ones. Allow a friend to help guide you through the tough times.
In 2019, Idaho was reported to prescribe higher than average opioid prescriptions. At the same time, 90% of Idaho residents who needed substance use treatment did not receive access to services. While Idaho does provide state Medicaid, there is still poor access to providers and treatment options throughout the state.
Through Bright Heart Health’s telemedicine program, opioid use disorder patients now have another mode of treatment available to them. A common reason why individuals struggling with opioid use disorder are reluctant to quit is because of the painful withdrawal, also known as “dope sickness.” To alleviate symptoms and facilitate safe withdrawal, we prescribe suboxone (buprenorphine) which will give you the same “high” but won’t get you hooked, allowing a steady transition out of withdrawal. Suboxone is safe for long-term use as long as it is managed by the provider. One-on-one sessions with a BHH counselor and participating in group therapy can improve the underlying conditions that may have contributed to your opioid use. If you are a Idaho patient who experiences chronic pain, we also offer chronic pain management services. We can help you manage your pain without prescribing potentially addictive meds.
